Silver Replacement Keys for Yoga 9iYou will receive the key and the plastic mounting piece behind the key . Along with instructions As specific keys are purchased I will put them in the list below, Which will mean they’re NOT available any longer. Message me with any questions-Windows key- M key- space bar- Backspace- R key- W key - 3 key - >• key-P keyTo remove old keySlide thin tool of your choice(I use tweezers) under top of key and gently pry upwards. *pry on key only , make sure you are not hooking the white plastic bracket underneath key*It helps to place a fingertip on bottom edge of key while prying. Key should pop offIf you pry right at one of the top corners, I found that it works also If plastic retainer clip is un damaged *check for broken tabs at top R and L corners) proceed to key installation. #3To install new clip , lay clip in key opening. ( paying close attention to the clips orientation)The clips farthest bottom edge should swing up/ away from keyboard if it is placed correctly. I will label the key when I uninstall it. Lightly press down on lower part of clip ( between small holes) and try to get the metal downward facing tabs to hook the clip thru the 2 holes. Hold gently in place . And with other hand , Use fingertip to (gently!) push on top L and then Top R corner of clip (this is when It usually breaks if : - you are not completely hooked on bottom metal hooks- hooked but crooked - Push in wrong spot and not directly above top metal hook. * don’t push on small plastic tabs that protrude outside of top metal hooks* that is what breaks. If you already broke it before reading this , sucks to be you. Lol. Jk. Don’t be angry , message me so I can tell you directly what a huge screw up you’ve made and send you another oneTo install key :Notice how bottom attachment tabs are hooks and top ones are more like slots. Place key in correct orientation , just slightly lower than the key next to it and barely push down while sliding gently upwards ( and hopefully hook the bottom of key on lowest part of clip, the part that lifts away from keyboard as referenced earlier) Then slowly slide your finger up towards the top of the key with light pressure making sure that the key stays square to the rest of the keys. You should hear a click and have a new key installed. Some of the steps will probably have to be repeated more than once to get the desired result with no damage and it’s better to be gentle with things then to try and force them and break parts.
