Box75 - Fully build custom mechanical keyboard with L&F switches and more Brand new 75% custom mechanical keyboard built with lubed and filmed switches, includes a full set of GMK keycaps to match. The Box75 is a premium keyboard designed by Lin Design Studio. The name, "Box", pays homage to a response from Japanese architect Tadao Ando. The keyboard kit The BOX 75 was originally a personal project by designer Lin, who wanted to create a keyboard that reflected his vision. When asked about his design philosophy, Lin replied with the phrase "Chohatsu suru hako," which roughly translates to "the box that provokes." The BOX 75 embodies this philosophy with its unique design - a block box that is 20mm thick, supported by a series of interlocking thin frames that serve both as a structural expression and as support for the keyboard. Lin hopes that upon seeing the keyboard, people will marvel at how it all fits together. The keyboard is top-mounted with o-ring burger enhancement, which makes it less stiff than traditional top-mount systems. The case is made of E-coated aluminum and features mirror-polished stainless-steel accents. The keyboard has a 7-degree type angle and a 1.5mm aluminum plate. Additionally, the kit comes with an extra solder PCB as backup. The switch The Gateron Box Ink V2-L Switches are an improved version of the original Ink V2 switches that enhance the unique sound signature of the Ink Blacks. They feature a shorter travel and a long spring for a snappy return, while still using the same beloved material as the regular Ink V2 switches. The box ink black switch has an actuation force of 60g and a full bottom-out force of 70g, with a full travel distance of 3.4mm. The switch housing is made of a custom plastic mix and the stem is POM opaque. The switches have been lubricated with Krytox 205G0 lubrication on the stem and Krytox GPL105 oil for the spring. Additionally, all 90 switches have been treated with a 0.15mm thick TX polycarbonate switch film. The stabilizer Owlab Owlstab, screw-in stabilizers. The Owlstab includes wires by “Liquid-metal”. These wires are made of shape-memory alloy which allows slight bending of the wire to return to its original, straight shape. It is lubed with Krytox 205G0 for the housing and XHT-BDZ grease on the wires for easy long-term maintenance, and reduced rattle and ping. The Keycaps GMK Bento R2, ABS double-shot keycaps. GMK Bentō (inspired by the Japanese culture, and the iconic/typical home-packed meal called 'Bento [弁当]') returns for second round. The Base kit covers any layout between 60% and full-size keyboards.
