Switches are tested working with a multimeter.

As with all Alps switches, due to age & use, there may be tactility inconsistencies between switches. If you experience this, you may need to perform a paper mod or slightly bend the feet of the internal tactile leaves back to 90 degrees to make them consistent to your standard.

Ultrasonic Cleaned : Switches have spotless internals after cleaning, but lubrication is highly recommended since ultrasonic cleaning washes away the pre-existing factory lubricant.
